Valeska Bass

Ms. Valeska Bass has been a part of Ann Arbor Public Schools community for the past 13 years where she has served within the Bryant Community for 12 years. She has held the role of lead teacher for six years, Summer Learning Institute (SLI) Principal for two years, and served on multiple committees. She is honored to be able to now serve the Pattengill community and continue the partnerships with the Bryant families. Mrs. Bass firmly believes that establishing positive relationships with teachers, students, families and the larger community creates a caring environment to promote student success. 

Mrs. Bass holds her Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education and Master’s Degree in Ed. Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. She believes in the importance of teaching children to think critically, even at a young age. Mrs. Bass believes in the quote: 

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education.”

Outside of school, Mrs. Bass enjoys spending time with her family and friends, engaging in activities such as biking, hiking, kayaking, playing games, doing puzzles, watching movies and going to comedy shows. Mrs. Bass loves to laugh and find joy in each day.
